Pre-School/Early Primary Workshops

Drawing is our first language. Although, for some, especially our little ones, eye-and-hand co-ordination often doesn’t come easily.

Using pencils, textas, and scissors can be a real challenge. They are difficult to grasp at this tender age. It is all part of learning and the main focus of Wildfire Workshops pre-school/early primary sessions is giving it a go! Making this process fun and wildly exciting to this age group.

Myke has develped a few great programs perfectly tailored for kids in kindergarten, prep and even early primary. A mixture of colour-in, craft, cutting, sticking and collage. These easy to set up workshops are centered around a single idea. Every workshop comes with an introduction, educational talk, question time and some story telling. The rest is simple art play with Myke roaming the class teaching your preschoolers the best way to create.

“Wildfire Workshops are truly engaging workshops. Myke has the kids ‘eating out of his hands’ … ‘fully switched on’ … and his personal encouragement is fantastic.”

“Myke Mollard brings a love of Australian animals and insects to his preschool presentations.  While including amazing illustrations and child friendly facts about our many bugs, he also demonstrates genuine joy in his work with preschool children. His “Bugs and leaf litter Mural workshop” was enjoyed by all our children and the resulting mural had pride of place on display  in our centre for the entire year.”

– Alison – Croydon Central Kindergarten

Mural maddnessLooking at insects in leaf litter. Myke’s mural making challenge presents a great teamwork proposition to any kindergarten or prep class.

Sometime the adults have just as much fun as the kids.

Myke makes sure ‘the kids are sorted!’ This leaves room for teachers to have a go too!

Learning cutting out skills is very important. Myke has a few tricks to make cutting out easy.

MBG_2639For Myke, every Wildfire Workshop should live with the children for weeks to come. Teachers can extend the learning the following day or following weeks. It will capture a child’s heart and mind. To do this Myke will get in there – help them learn and show them how to do it.
